COUNCIL REJECTS VODAFONE MAST PLAN FOR HEADFORD

Vodafone has lost a bid to erect a telecommunications mast in Headford.

Galway county council has refused the mobile phone giant permission to build an 18 metre high mast on High St in the town.

The mast was to form part of Vodafone's overall 3G broadband network.

However its proposal attracted huge opposition with public meetings held in September and objections submitted to the county council.
