“The number one target for us was winning Leinster. We’ve accomplished that now and we’ll let that sink in. We’ll get back to work during the week,” Galway senior hurling manager Micheal Donoghue told Tribune Sport after his side’s win over Dublin in the Leinster final.
Galway maintained their recent winning run over Offaly with a comfortable eleven point victory in round two of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday afternoon in Pearse Stadium. Although Offaly reduced the gap to four points on 55 minutes, the Tribesmen finished with a flourish and goals late on from Conor Cooney and Rory Burke sealed a second victory of the Leinster SHC campaign for the men in maroon and white.
