THE GALWAY senior hurlers All-Ireland semi-final opponents will be revealed this weekend after the All-Ireland quarter-finals take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Both Galway and Limerick have sealed their places directly into the All-Ireland semi-finals on the back of winning provincial championships. This Saturday, Leinster finalists Dublin face Clare in FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles at 7pm. Meanwhile, Cork and Offaly in the other All-Ireland quarter-final at 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon in Thurles.

Galway's All-Ireland semi-final opponents will be determined by the outcomes of the All-Ireland quarter-finals. If Cork overcome Offaly, the Tribesmen will face Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park on Saturday, July 4, with throw-in at 3.30pm.

A Clare victory coupled with an Offaly win would see Galway paired with Clare in the last four. However, if both Dublin and Offaly emerge victorious, Galway would meet Offaly in the semi-final. The All-Ireland senior hurling final takes place on Sunday July 19.

Micheal Donoghue’s charges ended their eight wait for a Leinster SHC tttle with a comfortable 4-29 to 4-15 win over Dublin and the men in maroon and white will come into the All-Ireland semi-final on the back of a four week break.

Rory Burke limped off with a hamstring injury in the first half during Galway’s win over Dublin in the Leinster final, while Daithi Burke battled on through injury after Donoghue and the medical team initially thought the ful back had dislocated his knee.

“He thought he actually dislocated it and went back again. That's just a testament to the man he is, he’s a bear,” said Donoghue when speaking about Daithi Burke’s injury after the Leinster final. The Galway manager will be hoping to have both players available for the All-Ireland semi-final.
