VOLVO ORGANISERS TO GET ANSWER ON GOVT FUNDING NEXT MONTH

Galway West Fine Gael TD Brian Walsh says Let's do it Global will get a definite answer on possible Government funding by the middle of December.
Let's do it Global representatives John Killeen and Enda O' Coineen met with Deputy Walsh in Government buildings last evening.
The company, which organised this year's hugely succesful Volvo Ocean race stopover, has been left with bills of up to 450 thousand euro.
The current deficit is around 690 thousand euro, but it's owed in the region of 200 thousand which the company is confident of receiving in the coming months.
Let's do it Global is now seeking Government assistance in an effort to finalise the bills for this year.
Funding support for a bid for the 2014 Volvo Ocean race was not discussed, however it's understood a syndicate seprate to Let's do it Global is in talks to bring a third stopover to Galway.
Deputy Walsh says that although Government budgets are constrained, there is some hope that funding will be allocated to the company.
