The controversy over the operation of Tuam's public swimming pool continues to rumble on.

At a recent meeting of the Town Council, local Councillors expressed their concerns over revised opening hours at the Kingfisher facility.

The row over public swimming sessions at the Tuam pool was back in the spotlight after a letter suggesting changes was read out at the meeting.

The Council official’s letter suggested further modifications to the pool opening hours as suggested by the Kingfisher group.

But these were rejected out of hand by Cllr Sean Cunniffe who said it is a public facility and the former hours of opening by previous operators must be reinstated.

All councillors agreed to hold a public meeting next Monday night in the Town Hall at 8 o’clock.
