PROTEST PLANNED OVER TUAM PITCHES

A group of people in Tuam, who are objecting to the development of sporting facilities at the Palace Grounds, will protest outside a meeting of the Town Council this evening.

Galway County Council told the Town Council last week that a decision on the development must be made soon in order to proceed with the inner relief road.

The Town Council was given until this evening to make a decision on the plans, which include, tennis and basketball courts and astro turf pitches.

Community representative, Helen Kelly says they plan to protest against the plans at this evening's Tuam Town Council meeting.
