NUIG plans park & ride

A planning application for the construction of the city’s first permanent 'Park and Ride’ facility is set to be submitted to Galway City Council this month.NUI Galway intend to apply for permission to build a new facility for 500 cars on a site which is owned by the university at the IDA Business Park in Dangan.The proposed development, part of the university’s 'Mobility Management Plan’, is set to greatly alleviate the problem of illegal parking in the Newcastle area.Plans for the project were unveiled during a well attended recent meeting between NUIG management, City Council officials, and local residents.It is envisaged that...........................
