More time allowed for redevelopment of Spinnaker House Hotel
Galway Bay fm newsroom- More time has been granted to build a mixed-use development at the site of a hotel in Knocknacarra.
While the Spinnaker House Hotel was damaged by fire last month, an extension to planning had been sought for the site.
Ronan Lawless had requested 5 more years to build a new 26-bed hotel and 16 apartments at the site of the Spinnaker Hotel.
He stated in the application that a lack of financing from the economic downturn meant that the development could not be built up to now.
Planners have granted an extension to the planning permission until December 2018.
Meanwhile, the Spinnaker House Hotel was damaged by fire in the early hours of December 22nd last.
