GALWAY WEST TD FRANK FAHEY SETTLES DEFAMATION CASE AGAINST NEWSPAPER

Date Published: 11-Nov-2010
Galway West T.D Frank Fahey has settled a defamation case against the Irish Independent newspaper.
The newspaper published an article in April 2006 claiming that Deputy Fahey, who was then a Junior Minister at the Department of Justice, failed to declare an interest in property in the United States.
An apology was read out in court today in which the newspaper admitted that the statements were untrue and apologised to Deputy Fahey.
Deputy Fahey says he is glad the matter has been clarified and he has been vindicated.
