Galway TD Colm Keaveney supports Fine Gael rebels' bid
Galway Bay fm newsroom - The former Labour Party Chairman and Galway East TD Colm Keaveney is supporting the calls of former Fine Gael TDs for a change in Dáil rules.
Six Fine Gael members who have lost the party whip have met to consider a campaign to win back speaking rights in the Dail.Galway Senator Fidelma Healy-Eames and Galway West T.D Brian Walsh were expelled from the Fine Gael party for not supporting the abortion legislation.Currently independent TDs are not given speaking rights unless they're members of a technical group - but only one group is allowed.Deputy Keaveney says the rules must be changed to give every TD their say.
