Galway has the second highest rate of collisions or near misses with cyclists and pedestrians according to new research.
The research from the AA shows that one in eight drivers on Ireland's roads has had a near miss - or even a collision - with a cyclist in the last two years.
The poll was carried out by the AA and almost 13 thousand drivers participated in it.
Galway was second highest for collisions or near misses with pedestrians with 14 percent of the national figure.
Incidents with cyclists are also common in Galway, amounting to 13 and a half percent of the national figure.
