The organiser behind a major fishing exhibition in Salthill says traffic congestion in Galway seriously needs to be addressed.

Managing director of Mara Media Hugh Bonner is behind the 'Skipper expo international' that's underway at the Galway Bay Hotel.

Up to 5 thousand fishermen from Ireland, the UK and other European countries such as Denmark and France are attending the event which began yesterday.

Around 80 companies, including four from Galway are exhibiting at the expo, which is expected to pump around 2 million euro into the local economy.

Speaking to Galway Bay FM at the event, Hugh Bonner says many visitors and exhibitors are complaining of long traffic delays.
