DANA CONSIDERING HER POSITION IN PRESIDENTIAL RACE

Claregalway resident Dana is considering her position in the presidential election

The Independent candidate is not campaigning today in the wake of serious accusations being made about a close family member

Towards the end of last night's Prime Time debate Dana said vile and false accusations were being made against a family member, attempting to implicate her and destroy her good name

In a statement to Galway Bay FM News, Dana said "all possible lines of enquiry are being pursued with prosecution authorities in the United States"

Dana made the announcement on Primetime in the belief that the accusations were to be published in a newspaper today

However no such story has appeared yet which means Dana herself put the story in the public domain

Although Dana can't officially withdraw from the race at this stage because her name is on the ballot paper she can unofficially withdraw

This would mean she would stop canvassing and doing publicity, both of which she has suspended for today
