She is accused of three offences

A 23-year-old woman has appeared in court charged in connection with an alleged public order incident in Galway City last month.

Hannah Condon, with an address at Leitrir Búrca, Ballymoneen Road, is accused of three offences including resisting or obstructing a Garda at William Street on August 31.

Sergeant Joanne McGhee handed in a schedule of arrest, charge and caution and said the accused made no reply to the charges after caution.

Judge Tom MacSharry noted the evidence and granted the sergeant's application to amend one of the charge sheets.

Sgt McGhee said directions are awaited from the DPP on how the case is to proceed and asked for an adjournment to November 1. Judge MacSharry thanked the accused for attending and told her the case was back in court on November 1.

Hannah Condon is charged with wilfully resisting or obstructing Garda Aisling Corbett in the execution of her duty. She is also accused of being intoxicated in public place to such an extent that she might endanger herself or others.

Condon is further charged with engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace may be occasioned.
