Young man accused of assaulting woman at Galway nightclub
He is charged with assaulting a female causing her harm
A 20-year-old man accused of assaulting a woman at a nightclub in Galway City is due to have his case heard in December.
Luke O'Connor, with an address at 119 Bluebell Woods, Oranmore, is charged that on April 4, 2025 at Electric Nightclub, Abbeygate Street, he assaulted a female causing her harm, contrary to Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against The Person Act, as amended by section 20 of the Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act.
At Galway District Court, Sergeant Claire Heneghan said jurisdiction had previously been accepted to hear the case in District Court.
The court heard the man was previously legally represented and Judge Fiona Lydon explained that the case could not proceed due to the ongoing legal aid dispute.
She adjourned the case to December 14 when the alleged facts of the incident are due to be heard.
