CALL TO REOPEN SALTHILL TOURIST OFFICE

Questions are being raised about the failure to staff the Salthill Tourist office particularly on the run up to the Volvo Ocean Race Finale.

Cllr Donal Lyons is calling on city officials to urgently meet with Failte Ireland about the issue.

A notice of motion has been sent to the city manager and a request will be made to the Mayor that the problem be discussed at monday's council meeting.

The Salthill site where the office is located is owned by the City Council.

However, Cllr Lyons maintains that a decision must be made to reopen the office or return it to the council for alternative use.
