UNION TO MEET GALWAY AVIVA STAFF THIS WEEK

UNITE trade union will address staff at Aviva in Knocknacarra this week [20/10] as a review of the company continues.

There is uncertainty about the future of 210 jobs at Aviva's call centre in Knocknacarra and branch in Eyre Square.

A review of the insurance company's Irish operations is underway and there is speculation that an announcement will be made on Wednesday.

However, management says it will not be making any announcement about jobs until the review is complete.

Union officials are meeting with staff at Aviva centres around the country this week with a meeting planned in Knocknacarra at 5p.m. this Thursday.
