Met Eireann forecast mentions rain for first time in week as 'outbreak' washes out Ireland

The National Forecaster has given an end date to the dry but albeit cold weather as the rain comes back with a bang
Met Eireann’s weather forecast has mentioned rain for the first time in over a week as an “outbreak” is set to wash Ireland out.
In The National Forecaster’s further outlook update, they suggest that while it is most likely to stay dry and settled into early next week, there is a chance that “an area of low pressure will move up from the south bringing outbreaks of rain and windier conditions by midweek”.
From now until then, however, high pressure will continue to dominate bringing mostly dry and settled weather apart from light showers in some places.
Met Eireann added: “There is likely to be more in the way of frost towards the end of this week and into the weekend with mist and fog forming over the weekend as the easterly breeze eases, and cloud amounts will vary.”
Thursday will be a mix of cloud and sunny spells with temperatures of 12C having more of a breeze than other days.
Tonight will continue to be dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells as the dial drops down to around 1C with mist and fog forming around the west.
Here is the rest of the weather forecast from Met Eireann:
Thursday: “Tomorrow will be another dry day for most with a mix of cloud, sunshine and just a few light showers. Any early frost, mist and fog will clear quickly. Mostly moderate east to northeast winds will ease mostly light later in the day, with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.”
Thursday night: “Dry for most, apart from the odd light shower, with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Isolated patches of mist and fog may form, mainly affecting parts of the west. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees generally, though a bit milder along the east coast, in a light east to northeast breeze.”
Friday: “Dry for most with a good deal of cloud around along with a few light showers. The best of the sunny spells will be in the west and southwest. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light easterly breezes.
Friday night: “Cloudy for most with a few light showers and limited clear spells. Patches of mist and fog will form, likely more widespread than previous nights, in light variable breezes or near calm conditions. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 7 degrees, likely coldest in parts of the west and southwest.”
Weekend: “Saturday will be cloudy in general, though spells of sunshine will break through at times. Another dry day for most with just well scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light northerly or variable breezes. Another dry and settled day for Sunday, with a signal for more in the way of sunny spells developing, as well as a few light showers. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees with light easterly or variable winds.”
