PATIENTS ABUSING WESTDOC EMERGENCY GP SERVICE

Date Published: 12-Feb-2008
Doctors are appealing to the public to only make urgent calls to the Westdoc emergency GP service.A major rise in the number of non-urgent calls to Westdoc is making it difficult for urgent patients to get prompt attention. Over 72,000 patients rang Westdoc last year, a 20 per cent increase in the number of calls received in 2006. Westdoc provides emergency GP care to patients of participating GPs who become ill outside of regular surgery hours.
