Concern over plans to auction Tynagh and Gurteeny health centres

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Concerns have been raised regarding plans to sell Tynagh and Gurteeny health centres. The HSE says the decision is part of the overall policy to develop modern facilities in primary care centres. Doctors operating in the centres have been contacted by Galway Roscommon PCCC to advise that the utilisation of the facilities have been reviewed. They have been advised that Tynagh and Gurteeny are to be put up for auction and that alternative arrangments should be made for clinics. A public meeting concerning the proposed auction of Tynagh Health Centre was held this week (June 16). A delegation of councillors and a TD are now to request a meeting with PCCC Manager Catherine Cunningham. Fianna Fail Cllr Anne Rabbitte is one of those requesting the meeting and says the group will request a stay on the planned auction until alternative options are considered.
