Catherine Connolly redoing Irish area tour second time for special reason

She last did the tour of the area in March but is back again
President of Ireland Catherine Connolly will begin her three day tour and second official visit of Donegal today.
The Galway woman will spin around Arranmore, Inishboffin and Tory Island before heading up to Gweedore undertaking a series of engagements on the three islands.
Having last visited in March, she will touch down in Arranmore, on Wednesday, meeting with staff and students from Scoil Athpoirt, Scoil na Léibe and Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada.
Following on from this, she will visit An Chultúrlann, meeting with members of Arranmore Island voluntary groups, the Fire Service, Lifeboat Crew, Ambulance Service and First Responders. The final official engagement of day one is then a visit to Arranmore Community Centre (Ionad Cois Bhealaigh).
On Thursday, President Connolly will be in Inishbofin Island for a community event at the hall. The President will then visit the most remote of Ireland’s inhabited islands, taking in Tory Church, Scoil Cholmcille and Coláiste Phobail Cholmcille. That evening, President Connolly will join a community gathering at Tory Island Social Club.
On Friday, she will visit Coláiste Bhríde, an Irish language school in Rann na Feirste. President Connolly will conclude her visit by launching Dorn San Aer Festival in Gaoth Dobhair. Founded in 2024 in memory of broadcaster Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí, the festival celebrates the cultural and linguistic richness of the Gaeltacht.
President Connolly was inaugurated as the 10th Uachtarán na hÉireann at Dublin Castle on November 11, 2025. She experienced a landslide victory, taking 63% of the votes cast and claiming 75% of the vote in the Donegal constituency.
