BISH oarsmen took gold in all the relay events at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships which were held in the UL Sports Arena in Limerick.

A team of 63 Bish oarsmen, ranging from 12 to 18 years of age, travelled to the championships and each oarsman competed in at least two events. The athletes were delighted to have the opportunity to get back racing again, especially after such a bad winter on the Corrib.

The Bish individual medallists were – MJ13: 1st Robert Cormican; MJ14: 3rd Diarmuid Deeney Curran; MJ15: 1st Michael Daly; MJ15: 2nd Michael Gallagher; MJ16 2k: 1st Rory Tummon; MJ13 500m: 1st Robert Cormican; MJ14 500m: 2nd Matas Sadauskas; MJ15 500m:1st Michael Daly; MJ15 500m: 2nd Michael Gallagher; MJ15 500m:3rd Ben Bradley; MJ16 500m: 3rd Tom Osthemier

The Bish Rowing Club was awarded the inaugural Eddie Crean Perpetual Memorial Cup for the best club performance in the 2K, 1K and set time events.

Senior Coach John Walsh thanked Eddie Crean's family for presenting this trophy and expressed the club's honour at being the first club to be named on this trophy – he also added that the Bish RC will be back next year to defend their title.

Bish were represented across all age groups on the Connacht Inter Provincial teams and the men's Junior 13 crew of Robert Cormican, Iannis Praxmarer, Elhadi Ayman and Darragh Kavanagh beat off competition from the other provinces to lift the title.
