They are going to need to build a bigger trophy cabinet in the house

Limerick hurler David Reidy will be making room in the trophy cabinet for his fiancée, as Galway Ladies footballer Aoife Ní Cheallaigh has brought home the second All-Ireland win for the couple this season.

Posting to Facebook, David's home club of Dromin-Athlacca congratulated Aoife and the Galway team on their monumental win.

Accompanied by a photo of the happy family at Croke Park, the post read: "Congratulations to Aoife Ní Cheallaigh and the Galway Ladies Footballers on the magificent achievement of winning the All-Ireland football final yesterday. A memorable few weeks for both her and David. Well done and enjoy the celebrations."

Galway's defeat of Kerry on Sunday saw Aoife and the team become All-Ireland Ladies Football champions, regaining the title for the Tribeswomen after 22 years.

It was the second All-Ireland win for the couple this season, as fiancé David Reidy secured his sixth All-Ireland medal with the Limerick senior hurling team in an epic defeat of Galway on July 19.

They will have lots to tell their pupils about their busy summer when the teachers returns to the classroom in September.

David teaches in St Patrick's National School in Bruree while Aoife is a teacher in St Patrick’s Boys National School on the Dublin Road in Limerick city.

In a coincidence, Aoife's principal - Anthony Liddane is the chairman of David's club Dromin-Athlacca.
