A young Galway entrepreneur is “taking the world by storm” according to the proud school where he finished his Leaving Cert only three years ago.

Times Square woke up to the face of Adam McIntyre this week as the Claregalway student promoted his new start up business Gilo.

Adam, alongside his two co-founders, have been plastered all over billboards the last week with the young man joking that “I’ll never lose a game of two truths and a lie ever again”.

The new venture Gilo “provides runtime security for AI agents by grounding agents in formalised logic rather than solely relying on .md files and llms as a judge”.

To simplify, Adam has created a specific security system which protects computerised AI agents while they are in operation by using strict mathematical logic to control behaviour, rather than relying on more simple text instructions or other AI models to check their work.

In June, Adam and his co-founders won a Hackathon - an event where computer programmers, designers and project managers meet over a short period to create a prototype - through SCION events and with the help of a Boston based startup Talvy who offered them feedback and support throughout the event which Adam says aided the win.

“As a result, Talvy agreed to promote us on their Times Square billboard, and we are so thankful for them for organising this”, Adam said.

Coláiste Bhaile Chláir were by no means shocked to see their former student on the biggest platform in the world saying that Adam’s trajectory in such a short space of time is “nothing short of inspiring”.

They said: “Huge congratulations to Adam McIntyre, CBC Class of 2023. From walking the halls of CBC to taking the tech and entrepreneurship world by storm.

“Building something from the ground up requires serious drive, but seeing your rapid success makes it clear this is just the beginning.

“The entire CBC community is cheering you on as you take these exciting next steps. Here’s to breaking boundaries, building the future, and making your mark.”
