Gardai investigating two car N17 crash as vehicles smash into barrier and wall
The collision occurred just outside Tuam on the N17 as people travelled to work this morning
Gardaí are investigating a two-car collision that occurred just outside Tuam on the N17 early this morning.
It’s understood that two cars collided and one struck the cable barrier separating traffic travelling in the opposite direction shortly before 9am this morning.
The other collided with a wall as it travelled southbound, and remained at the scene after the removal of the other vehicle.
Traffic was reduced to one lane for a time as emergency services attended the scene but no major disruption occurred.
A spokeswoman for An Garda Síochána said investigations were underway following the collision.
“Gardaí attended the scene of a two-car collision on Tuam Road, Galway, at 9am on September 15, 2026. No injuries have been reported at this time,” she added.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
