WARNING OVER POSSIBLE SHORTAGE OF PROPERTY IN THE CITY IN THE NEAR FUTURE

A global construction consultancy firm says Galway city and suburbs could see a shortage of the right properties in the right locations in the next few years

John O' Regan Head of the Davis Langdon Galway office says the firm's latest review shows that Galway and the Western Region has a significant overhang of residential accommodation

However, the city does not have an overhang to the same extent so it could see a shortage

The review also revealed that in terms of construction activity in the public sector, education and health continue to be the primary sources.
