United settle for share of spoils

THE LACK of a cutting edge up front and the tendency Galway United have shown to give away sloppy goals all season combined to ensure that the home side had to settle for a deserved share of the spoils from this enjoyable FAI Cup quarter-final clash at Terryland Park on Friday night. There was enough spirit in this United performance, particularly in the first half, to give United manager Jeff Kenna some encouragement for the side’s remaining nine League games – especially in the wake of his team’s disastrous performance when they went down 4-1 to relegation rivals Cobh Ramblers last time out.
