Twins leave teachers with double vision!

Teachers across South Galway were seeing double in a major way this week with the arrival of no less than ten sets of twins in schools between Gort and Kinvara for the new school year.
Three sets alone began Junior Infants in Lough Cutra National School, ensuring the largest ever intake in the school with 23 pupils starting last Monday.
Margaret Walsh - whose adorable boys Conor and Daniel made their big debut at the school 4km outside Gort - is behind a Whatsapp group of mums in the area who stay in touch throughout the year since the uncanny influx of so many twins.
Over a 15-month period between 2014 and 2015, 14 sets were born in and around Gort. Among them are 21 boys and just three sets are all girls, with one set mixed.
“Twin parents are so lucky because at least our twins have each other whereas the other kideens are on their own – you’d feel so sorry for them on their first day,” reflects Margaret.
“Our twins get to sit beside their twin but the three sets were spread out around the classroom. But thankfully they love it and they think their teacher Ms [Niamh] Finn is great – she has her own little boy Charlie starting too.”
