Trial date set in Oughterard manslaughter case

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A date has been set in December for the trial of a 35-year-old man charged with the manslaughter of Oughterard publican and teacher John Kenny. Romanian national, Marian Lingurar, of Orchard Court, Blackpool, Co Cork, appeared before Galway Circuit Criminal Court today. He is charged with the manslaughter of 56-year-old Mr Kenny at Kenny's Bar on Main Street, Oughterard, on September 25, 2011. Judge Rory McCabe listed the trial, which is expected to last two weeks, to commence on December 2 next.
