Thousands of people will take to Galway's streets this afternoon to voice their opposition to proposed Government cuts in the budget.
The rally, which is one of eight organised around the country, will involve members from the country's biggest unions, guards, teachers and health workers as well as community group members and the unemployed.
Protestors will assemble at Galway Cathederal in the city at half past two.
They will then move across the Salmon Weir bridge onto Frances Street, up Eglington Street, down Shop street and finish at the Spanish Arch where speakers will address the crowd.
