Sod turning for Ballinasloe athletics clubhouse
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Mayor of Ballinasloe Councillor Mike Kelly has turned the sod on the site of a new athletics clubhouse at the Dunlo recreational park in the town. The 100 thousand euro clubhouse will comprise changing rooms, shower and toilet facilities and a storage area. The project will take around 16 weeks to complete. A grant of €50,000 has been allocated by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, while the remainder of the construction costs and the site has been provided by Ballinasloe Town Council. Mayor Kelly says this is once again a significant investment by the town council in sport and recreation facilities in addition to the 1.7 million euro already invested over the last three years.
