SEAWEED DELIVERIES HALTED AT CONNEMARA FACTORY

A recent boom in seaweed harvesting in Connemara has resulted in a self imposed ban on supply by a local factory.Arramara factory in Cill Chiaráin has given notice to its suppliers that it will not be accepting deliveries for a period of two weeks at the beginning of November.The announcement has shocked local harvesters who turned to the seashore to earn a living following the downturn in the local building industry.
