ROAD NOISE TO BE REDUCED IN GALWAY CITY

The process of reducing traffic noise affecting homeowners, shopowners, and hospitals in the city, has begun at local authority level.Galway City Council has prepared a draft action plan to reduce noise on sections of three national roads and four regional roads within city boundaries.The plan is based over 5 years(2008-2013) and sections of the N59, N6 and N17 have been identified as areas which will be targetted for noise reduction.The Draft Noise Action Plan has gone on public display at city hall and will remain on display until December 19th to allow for public submissions.
