Protest at regional health forum over Ballinasloe unit closure
Galway bay fm newsroom -A silent protest is underway at the gates of Merlin Park hospital over the planned closure of the 22-bed acute care unit in Ballinasloe.
Around 10 demonstrators carrying placards have gathered at the hospital where a meeting of the regional health forum west is underway.
The HSE is planning to close the 22 bed acute care mental health unit at St. Brigid's hospital on a phased basis.
