A city man was sentenced to eight months in prison at Galway District Court this week for assualting a taxi driverJudge Mary Fahy imposed the prison sentences on Rafal Baranek of Moneenageisha Court, who was not present in court The court heard the man punched him taxi driver John Heffernan through the driver’s window When Mr Heffernan opened the door in an attempt to push his attacker away, the man started kicking the door of the car, causing €700 worth of damage.
