PRAISE FOR SALTHILL GARDA INVOLVED IN SEA RESCUE

A Salthill Garda is being praised for braving freezing sea waters last night to rescue a man who entered the sea in Lower Salthill.Garda Gerard Dunne was involved in the dramatic sea rescue of a man near Whitestrand road after ten pm.The man was taken to University Hospital Galway where he was treated for hypothermia.A spokesperson for the HSE has confirmed that the man has since been discharged.
