There's been a big improvement in the severe overcrowding at University Hospital Galway's Casualty department. The number of people waiting on a bed has dropped from 38 this morning, to just ten this evening, according to the HSE. The HSE says doctor exams taking place at the hospital today caused the backlog. The situation reached crisis point this morning with the exceptionally high number of people waiting on trolleys in the A & E unit.
