NUIG researchers trial fall detection system for the elderly
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Researchers at NUI Galway are testing a fall detection device which aims to improve quality of life for the elderly.
It's part of a two million euro EU project called FATE.The system is made up of a highly sensitive portable fall detector, a wireless home network and a smart phone.The project is actively recruiting participants aged 64 and over to test the system in their own homes.
