Galway West Labour TD Derek Nolan has been accused of turning to the media instead of the Minister with health issues.

Fianna Fáil Health Spokesman Deputy Billy Kelleher says Deputy Nolan seems more concerned about media profile than progress on waiting times and patient care at University Hospital Galway.

Deputy Kelleher says Deputy Nolan has been talking about all the steps he’s taking, including meeting the Clinical Director at the hospital, to deal with the issue but surely he would be better taking this matter up with his Government colleague Minister Reilly.

Deputy Kelleher says HE intends to raise this issue with Minister Reilly and will urge him to exercise his authority to deal with it.
