No planned ward closures at city public hospitals

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are no planned ward or theatre closures at the citys' public hospitals this Summer.

CEO of the Galway Roscommon hospital group Bill Maher confirmed this week there will be no closures at UHG or Merlin Park hopsital in July or August.

It's welcome news as, historically, ward closures have taken place during periods of reduced activity.

Councillor and member of the regional health forum west, Mary Hoade says it's welcome news for patients and staff.
