The provision of further training opportunities for Galway school-leavers with disabilities has been brought before the Dáil.

700 of these students are due to leave school in the coming month with 135 of these within the HSE West region, and 44 in Galway.

Minister of State for Disability, Older People, Equality and Mental Health Kathleen Lynch has agreed to discuss the funding crisis with the Brothers of Charity, when she visits the city on Monday[May 28].

It's after Galway Deputies Derek Nolan, Brian Walsh and Sean Kyne outlined that the service provider cannot cater for the group within existing budget allocations.

Speaking in the Dail, Galway East Labour Deputy Derek Nolan called on the Minister to intervene in a dispute which he says is going on between the HSE, the Department of Health and the service providers
