MEP CALLS FOR INCREASE IN FUNDING FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

The government needs to take urgent steps to ensure that proposed cuts in the Health Service don't affect suicide prevention resources.That's according to MEP for the North West, Jim Higgins who says the rising number of suicide deaths is alarming.He was speaking as Galway University Hospital marks World Mental Health week.A number of information stands are in place at the Main Foyer at UHG to inform the public about mental health services and offer advice on good mental health.
