Last day of operation for Bank of Ireland Galway Shopping Centre

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Bank of Ireland branch at the Galway shopping centre closes its doors for good today.

All 14 staff have been offered redeployment meaning no job losses, but the closure will impact on regular customers to this branch.

The Bank of Ireland branch at the shopping centre is seen as a convenient location for many with ample parking and close to other amenities.

However, from close of business today, the Bank of Ireland branch at the Galway shopping centre is merging with the branch at the Galway Industrial estate in Mervue.

In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, Bank of Ireland says it has been working with customers over the past few months to ensure an easy transition.

It adds the branch at Mervue has been refurbished and is located just 1.5 kilometres from the shopping centre.

Bank of Ireland also has outlets in Eyre square, Mainguard street, NUI Galway, Salthill, Oranmore and the Galway Industrial estate.
