GERRY BARRETT APPEALS TAAFFES REFUSAL

Developer and hotelier Gerry Barrett has renewed his bid to re-develop Taffes on William Street.Galway city council refused permission for the transformation of the landmark city centre building but the decision has been appealed to An Bord Pleanala.The re-development was to include a new shop front and an extension to the building which was to be used solely for retail purposes.However city planners refused permission for the plans and this decision has now been appealed to An bord pleanala on a number of grounds.
