Galway TD concerned about failure to extend Breastcheck

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The failure of the HSE to extend the Breastcheck programme for women over 65 in Galway is putting lives at risk. That's according to Galway West Fianna Fáil T.D, Eamon Ó Cuív, who says that the government has failed to deliver a promise made in 2011 to expand the programme to women aged 65-69. Deputy Ó Cuív says that since the Breastcheck clinic opened in Galway in 2007, thousands of women's lives have been saved. He says that the government's decision to postpone the extension until 2015 will have devastating consequences for many women.
