Several Primary schools in Galway are struggling to find a new principal.

Figures released this week by the Irish Primary Principals' Network revealed that an increasing number of class teachers are shunning the position of principal in many schools in the Galway urban area.

The number of schools forced to re-advertise the principal's job has risen by 54 per cent in the last two months alone, almost half of which are in Galway and Dublin.
