A very peculiar couple of days of weather ahead

Met Eireann has confirmed these next four days will see temperatures hit maximums of 23C in some parts of Ireland.

However, because of consistent fog and drizzle in between we will not see the benefits of the high temperatures to their full potential.

Thursday will start off cloudy with patches of rain and drizzle across the west.

Drier weather and more sun will come out in the afternoon with the dial hitting the low to mid 20s and only dropping to the mid teens in the nighttime.

Friday while also hitting highs of 23C will be generally more cloudy with limited sunny spells as rain drifts in and out throughout the day.

For the weekend, Met Eireann state: “There will be mixed weather overall with dry and milder conditions over the southern half of the country but perhaps a little wetter and cloudier across the north.”

For Saturday they continued: “Rather cloudy overall with rain across Connacht and Ulster spreading east during the morning.

“Cloudy with patchy drizzle elsewhere which will become more persistent for a time in the afternoon. Westerly breezes and highs of 17 to 23 degrees, warmest in the south.”

They added for Sunday: “Cloudy with rain across the northern half of the country but drier and a little less cloud further south.

“The best of any sunny spells will be in the south and southeast. Westerly breezes continue with highest temperatures of 17 to 23 degrees.”
