Date Published: 29-Apr-2008

A passenger plane travelling from Galway to Dublin has been forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport. The pilot of Aer Arann flight 231 had to shut down one of the plane's engines due to a technical fault which occurred shortly after take-off. Emergency services were on standby when the plane landed safely just after ten o'clock with 30 passengers on board. The passengers have since been transported to Galway by coach.
