Evidence of Tsunamis and major storms has been found in Galway Bay.Marine researchers say it may reflect a previous climate change in the relatively recent past. They discovered the evidence of extreme weather events during marine mapping of Galway Bay last year. The findings are being presented today(WED 13/2) at the Marine Institute's annual INFOMAR seminar. It's hoped the research will help understand cyclical flooding and droughts in the surrounding area which are predicted to worsen with climate change.Marine Institute CEO Peter Heffernan says the data will help predict future climate change.
