GALWAY AIRPORT EXPECTED TO REOPEN IN THE MORNING

Restrictions on travel to and from Galway Airport, should be lifted at 9 o' clock tomorrow morning.

The airport at Carnmore was closed at noon today[5/5] due to the increased volcanic activity in Iceland.

Knock, Donegal and Sligo are all closed today and Dublin Airport will stay closed until 4am tomorow.

Cork and Kerry airports remain open until midnight, while Shannon Airport will be open until half past five this evening.

Kevin Dwyer is with a group of people who travelled to New York for the Galway v New York football match on Sunday.

They have made it to London Heathrow and one bus with the team has already boarded a ferry to Rosslare and they hope to arrive in Claregalway around 1am
